The demand that the British Colonial Office should “throw into the wastebasket” the Palestine Jewish Communities ordinance submitted for approval by the Palestine administration, was made last Sunday in an editorial published in the “Sunday Express”, the organ of Lord Beaverbrook. The ordinance, the paper claims, is a violation of Article 2 of the Palestine Mandate which guarantees the right of religious freedom.

It is scandalous that under the British reign the Orthodox Jews should be denied religious freedom which they enjoyed under the Turkish reign, the paper states.
