Leader of Lithuanian People’s Party Criticizes Government Policy Against Jews

“The policy of the present government with regard to the Jewish population is damaging the international relations of the country”, declared Deputy Schlesewitsch, leader of the Lithuanian People’s Party, in Parliament today.

Deputy Garfunkel delivered a speech dealing with the present internal policy of the Lithuanian Government, drawing particular attention to the treatment of the Jewish population by the local authorities, and denouncing a number of administrative abuses in this regard. He also raised the question of illegal expulsions from the country carried out by the authorities.
