A proclamation dealing with the economic situation of the Arabs in Palestine was issued to the Arab population by the Executive of the Christian Moslem Association.

The proclamation deals with what it terms a “critical situation” and urges measures to cope with the problem. “Increased production is necessary. For this purpose, we need funds, but these funds do not exist in the country. The Arab Executive has studied the problem and has decided that there is only one way to solve it and this is to establish cooperative associations and savings boxes in the towns and villages.” The proclamation points out that in Nablus there are thirty Arab cooperative and saving associations, and urges the Arab associations to carry on propaganda along these lines.

A promise is also made that the subject of cooperative organizations will be a subject of serious consideration at the seventh Arab congress.
