An exhibition of work by Jewish master artisans, journeyman artisans and apprentices will be held in Leipzig in May in connection with the conference of the Jewish Artisans’ Union of Germany called for May 30th and 31st. The exhibition is intended to demonstrate the ability of the Jew as an artisan.
An appeal has just been issued by the Central Union of Jewish Artisans in Germany to all Jewish artisans in the country to help in setting up teaching centres for the Jewish youth.
Thousands of Jewish boys and girls, the appeal says, on leaving school, will be looking for a means of earning their livelihood. It is the duty of the Jewish master artisans to give the younger Jewish generation the opportunity of carrying on their work. Every Jewish master artisan in the country should take on one or more of these young Jews as apprentices.
The League for American Citizenship is arranging for field workers in citizenship to be located at P.S. 75, 25 Norfolk Street, every day next week from 1 P. M. to 5 P. M. and from 8 P. M. to 10 P. M.
These field workers who will be found to the Spain entrance of the school, will give advice and assistance to all foreign born who seek to become citizens or who wish to secure their first papers. This is part of a drive the League is making throughout the city to reach those who have not had an opportunity to go downtown to fill in their applications.
Dr. Sam Burg, physician of San Autonia, Texas, and leader in Zionist circles to Texas, is leaving for Palestine where he will make his home.
Dr. Burg was born in Ilrovy, Galicia, Studied in Vienna, Austria, and was one of the first Academic Pioneers who joined the Zionist Movement, with Dr. Herzl.
