Jascha Heifetz Awarded French Legion of Honor

Jascha Heifetz was awarded the Cross of the Legion of Honor by the President of the French Republic. He thus becomes the youngest person on the civil list to hold the coveted distinction.

Heifetz has just returned to Paris after a trip of several weeks in Palestine. He went from colony to colony, playing for the colonists.

On one occasion Heifetz played to 10,000 listeners in the open air.
