General Rishkanu was appointed civil governor of the city of Bucharest, charged with the task of keeping peace and order in the Roumanian capital, by an order issued by General Averescu, Prime Minister.
General Rishkanu was the first of the Roumanian military to support the appeal issued by the Union of Roumanian Jews against the anti-Semitic movement in Roumania.
The newspaper “Halla Reshi” of Clausenberg yesterday published an interview with Madam Theodorescu, a lady-in-waiting at the Roumanian Court, in which she stated that the royal family is opposed to the anti-Semitic movement. Queen Marie, she stated, is a philo-Semite.
