Elections to the Roumanian parliament began here today with intense excitement. The elections to the Senate will begin on Friday.

About 25 Jews are candidates on the various lists, including that of the government party, the liberals, nationalists, peasants and socialists. In the new provinces a victory for the government list under General Averescu is expected. The peasant list is expected to be victorious in the Old Kinkdom. A majority of liberal candidates and a few socialists are expected to be elected, while the complete failure of the anti-Semitic Cuza list is anticipated.
