The American procedure of electing a president was advocated for Poland by the Club of Jewish Deputies in a motion introduced by the Club in the Sejm, which is now considering the project to change the Polish constitution.
The main feature of the changes contemplated in the constitution is calculated to increase the power of the president, to enable him to dissolve the Sejm and to veto the bills passed by the house.
