A new world’s record in a marathon endurance automobile drive was established by Rosser J. Newman, of Dallas, Texas., who arrived here yesterday, completing a 171-hour ride.

Newman started his drive last Tuesday. He drove without sleep and in high gear throughout. The endurance driver also holds the marathon dancing record, having danced 217 hours and 50 minutes at one time, and the roller skating championship, skating 72 hours. At the completion of his drive, Newman was examined by a doctor and then went to a hotel to make up loss of sleep.

Cantor Leib Glantz, who recently arrived from Roumania, has been engaged by the Young Israel Synagogue of Brownsville, Brooklyn, N. Y. for the coming High Holidays.
