The ordinance of the Polish Minister of Education abolishing the secret circular of the Grabski government concerning the numerus clausus against Jewish students has not prevented the protest of the Jewish population against the Education Minister.

The Club of Jewish Deputies, which introduced a motion into the Sejm to express lack of confidence in the Minister of Education Sojkowski, did not withdraw this motion when the new ordinance was issued yesterday.

It was stated in well informed Jewish circles that the issuance at the present time of the ordinance annulling the numerus clausus will be of no avail for this year in view of the fact that it was issued after enrollment in the universities and colleges was closed for the present semestre. The fact of the matter is that the numerus clausus was applied in all its strictness against the Jewish students who applied for admission this year.

The Club has also decided to introduce an interpellation into the Sejm concerning the action of the Mayor of the city of Rawicz, Pomerania. The mayor ordered the local synagogue to remain closed during the high holidays, making it impossible for the Rawicz Jewish population to attend services.
