A trial reminiscent of medieval practices was opened in Kuban. Caucasia. The main figure in the trial is a certain Dr. Adamiantz, a Caucasion official against whom charges were brought that he terrorized the Jewish population in the Caucasian mountain regions by applying medieval methods of extortion. Evidence submitted by the Jewish workers club showed that Dr. Adaminatz demanded fifty roubles from Jewish couples applying for marriage licenses.
