A gift of a diamond tiara valued at $7,500 has been made by Mrs. Irma Lindheim, president of the Hadassah Women’s Zionist Organization, towards a fund of $1,000,000 for building hospitals in Palestine. Mrs. Lindheim presented her gift to Dr. Nathan Ratnoff, chairman of a joint body representing the American Jewish Physicians Committee and the Hadassah Women’s Zionist Organization, under whose auspices the undertaking to raise the $1,000,000 has been launched.

A fully equipped modern hospital to be part of the Medical Department of the Hebrew University at Jerusalem is included in the Committee’s program. In addition, smaller hospitals are to be built in the other cities of Palestine and in the large agricultural centers, particularly in the Valley of Jezreel which, in the past four years, has been covered with a network of thriving Jewish agricultural settlements.
