Vienna Students Object to Jewish Dean at School

A fight is now being waged between the Senate of the University of Vienna and a group of German students. Recently Prof. Hupka, a Jewish scholar, was appointed dean of the college of Jurisprudence at the University. A group of students who are members of the Deutsch Voelkische party submitted a memorandum to the Senate, in which they protest against the appointment, declaring that they refuse to be examined under the chairmanship of a Jew and they refuse to receive their doctorate degree from the hands of a Jewish dean.

David M. Richman was nominated by the Democratic Party of Connecticut as its candidate for the office of Secretary of State Mr. Richman has served as Assistant Corporation Counsel of New Haven, having been appointed by former Mayor David E. FitzGerald. It was Mayor FitzGerald who nominated Richman for Secretary of State.
