France heartily welcomes the immigration of Jewish artisans and workers from Eastern Europe, declared M. Herriot, former Prime Minister of France, in an interview with representatives of the Jewish press here.

The French people and the French government are ready to further the interests of the Zionist movement at any time in the most friendly manner, he stated. When asked concerning the forthcoming trial of Sholom Schwartzbard in Paris, he expressed the belief that the trial will disclose to the world the motives of the act.
