Paterson Exceeds $100,000 Joint U.j.c.u.p.a. Quota

Paterson exceeded its $100,000 combined quota for the United Palestine Appeal and the United Jewish Campaign by $25,853. Seventy per cent has been allocated to the United Jewish Campaign, and 30 per cent to the United Palestine Appeal, on a three-year basis for both.

Nathan Barnert was honorary chairman of the campaign and former School Commissioner Albert H. Slater was general chairman, with Meyer Levine, H. B. Kitay, and Abe Wolf as associate chairmen. M. S. Germansky, treasurer, and Benjamin Horwich, secretary.

Temple Beth-El of Utica. N. Y., will erect a new synagogue.

Decision to purchase a site for the new building was taken at a meeting of the congregation.

Joseph Sonneborn is chairman of the new temple project and led the campaign for funds about a year ago, at which $57,000 was raised.
