Minsk Awards Yiddish Writer a Life Pension

A government pension of 50 roubles monthly for life was awarded to Daniel Marshak.

Marshak, who is a shoe maker by trade, is 55 years old. He was recently incapacitated. Although he was never a professional writer, he has written a number of short stories of the life of the Jewish working class.
