Leon Trotzky, outstanding leader of the opposition to Stalin and Bucharin, was excluded from the Executive of the Communist International by a unanimous decision of the Executive Committee.

The expulsion from the international was motivated by Trotzky’s oppositional activities, it being alleged that the friends of Trotzky and Wuyowitch, who was also excluded, were carrying on illegal activities and maintaining secret printing presses for propaganda purposes.
