Alsky, former Soviet Commissar of Finance, and Wilensky, well known writer, were expelled from the Communist party, along with 76 other members.
They were accused of being organizers of the opposition movement. The specific charge was that they arranged secret meetings at which Trotzky and Kamenieff spoke.
