Rhode Island Students Honor Jewish Athletes

More than 400 Jewish students of Rhode Island colleges and universities assembled in the gymnasium of the Jewish Community Centre here to honor four outstanding Jewish college athletes: David Mishel famous iron man of Brown University’s undefeated eleven; Benny Friedman all-American quarterback from Michigan; Izzy Zaracoff and Al Miller of Harvard.

Lient. Governor Norman S. Case of Rhode Island Attorney General Charles P. Sisson once an all-American center from Brown were among the speakers. Samnel Workman. Acting Judge Samson Nathanson. Max L. Grant president of the centre: Jacob I. Cohen. Samuel Temkin and Charles B. Coppen former sporting editor of the Providence Journal also addressed the gathering which was attended by students of Brown University, Rhode Island State College. Rhode Island College of Education. Northeastern University and the Rhode Island College of Pharmacy.
