140 Settlements Created by Jews in the Ukraine During Past Three Years

One hundred and forty agricultural settlements containing 3,000 houses and providing for 35,000 persons were established in the Ukraine during the past three years, a report submitted to the executive of the National Minorities Committee in Russia states.

The committee decided to take steps to improve the condition of the Jewish settlers.

One hundred Jewish settlers will be colonized during the coming year in the vicinity of Mosir. An area of 7,000 desiatin will be ameliorated in this district to provide land for their settlement.

Reports received here today state that the severe rains in Crimea, causing damage to many fields and orchards, has not affected the Jewish colonies.
