Americans to Take Part in Hakoah Swimming Meet

Americans, who took part in the swimming events at the Olympic matches in Amsterdam, will participate in the International swimming meet of the Hakoah to be held here next week. Kojac. Crabbe and Norelius, American swimmers, have entered the events.

Rabbi Mitchell Salem Fisher of Temple Israel of Washington Heights, New York City, will occupy the pulpit of Temple Rodeph Sholem during the coming High Holy Days. Temple Rodeph Sholem, one of the oldest reform congregations in the country, now worships at Mecca Temple, pending the construction of its new temple at 83 St. and Central Park West.

The cornerstone of the Adas Israel Anshel Sfard Synagogue and Talmud Torah, Brooklyn, will be laid this morning.

The building is being erected at a cost of about $200,000. The style of the building is Byzantine. The exterior will be of terra cotta and cream-colored, smoothefaced, iron-filled, front brick. The building will occupy the entire lot which measures 60 by 100 feet. Two domes will surmount the facade and flank a Spanish tile roof.

The synagogue, will have s seating capacity of about 2,000. Four class rooms, a social hall with a capacity of 500 people and a principal’s office, will compose the Tal-mud Torah.

The congregation was founded a year and one-half ago. Hyman Binder is president.
