The performance of the Yiddish State Theatre of Moscow, now on tour here, scheduled for Sunday evening, Kol Nidre night, was cancelled at the last moment due to the intervention of the Jewish community of Vienna.

The troupe originally planned a performance for Sunday midday, but later announced that the performance would take place on Sunday evening, it being declared here that the troupe, in accordance with instructions from the Jewish section of the Communist Party, was asked to “behave abroad as they would in Russia.”

On the intervention of the leaders of the Jewish community the performance was cancelled. A few persons who turned up at the theatre were surprised to find the doors closed.
