Upstate Republican Counties Defeat Ottinger

The up-State Republican counties defeated Attorney General Ottinger for Governor, it was stated here on the basis of official, final returns from a majority of the up-State counties.

In Erie, Monroe, Onondaga, Steuben, Ulster, Schenectady, as well as in Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk, Mr. Ottinger was defeated by thousands of voters, who cast their ballots for Mr. Roosevelt, or did not vote for Governor at all. In Westchester County Mr. Ottinger polled 10,000 fewere votes than did Lockwood, Republican nominee for Lieutenant Governor.
