The assertion that the Palestine Government has permitted the recent events in Jerusalem in order to increas fraction between the Jews and Arabs as a move to bring about the abolition of the Balfour Declaration is made in a Jerusalem despatch to the “Vossiche Zeitung” from its correspondent, Herr Koestler.

The German correspondent bases his assertion on the frequently repeated statement of anti-Zionist Arab leaders that “there will be no peace as long as the Balfour Declaration exists.” He asserts that “the short sighted Palesline government intentionally committed tactless acts in connection with the Wailing Wall dispute and furthered the economic crisis with a view of preparing the way for the abolition of the Balfour Declaration.”

The correspondent concludes by saying, however, that the crux of the question is to be seen in the Wedgwood idea of Palestine’s becoming the seventh dominion of the British Empire. This matter will be decided not in Jerusalem but in London, he states.
