The ordinance requiring newspaper publishers in Palestine to furnish £100 security for the observance of the press regulations was invoked by the Jerusalem authorities against the “Doar Ha’yom” Hebrew daily, when its editorship was turned over to Vladimir Jabotinsky, leader of the Zionist Revisionists.
The publishers’ bond is required by an old Ottoman law and has of late not been applied.
