Jewish Cooperatives’ Bank in Poland Seeks Aid from Joint Foundation

Is Most Important Financial Instrument of Cooperative Movement (Jewish Telegraphic Agency)

Representatives of the Jewish co-operative movement in Poland have been holding conferences here with the representatives of the American Joint Reconstruction Foundation with regard to the difficult position of the Bank dla Spoldzielni, Bank of Jewish Cooperatives. Deputy Rassner, chairman of the Jewish Co-operative Federation in Poland, Deputy Viszlicki, Senator Szereszowski, President of the Bank dla Spoldzielni and member of the Executive Committee of the Council of the Joint Reconstruction Foundation. Dr. Silberschein of Lemberg. Mr. Schalit of Vilna and Mr. F. Finkelkraut of Warsaw, represented the Federation of Jewish Co-operatives in Poland.

The representatives of the Foundation expressed their conviction that Polish Jewry would do everything in its power to keep alive the bank, as the most important financial instrument of the co-operative movement. The future attitude of the Foundation towards the bank, they said, depended on earnest efforts being made in this direction.
