As part of its activities in celebrating the Chanukah festival, which will last until December 15, Young Judaea, national Jewish youth organization, has announced the launching of a drive for funds with which to widen the program conducted by the Hebrew Boy and Girl Scouts of Palestine.

The object of the drive is to secure funds that will permit the establishment of training courses for scout masters and the publication of scout literature in addition to support of present activities. Young Judaea, which is composed of boys and girls between the ages of 12 and 18, recently published Sir Robert Baden-Powell’s Handbook for Scouts in Hebrew to encourage the extension of Scouting in the Holy Land.

In a statement issued by Dr. Israel Goldstein, Rabbi of Congregation B’nai Jeshurun, National President of Young Judaea, who recently returned from Palestine, he urged aid for the Palestine Boy Scouts fund, saying: “Under a plan just formulated, it is proposed to have the Education Department of the Palestine Zionist Executive supervise the activities of the Jewish Boy Scouts being supported by Young Judaea.”
