Steps toward the formation of a Jewish world alliance for Sabbath observance have been taken here by an organization committee headed by Professor Greenberg.

Concurrence in the purposes of the alliance was expressed in messages received by the organization committee from seventeen countries including the United States, South Africa, Palestine and Egypt. The purpose of the organization will be, as outlined, “to restore the place of the Sabbath in Jewish life.” A world congress of strict Sabbath observers and organizations working for Sabbath observance is planned by the committee.

The United Synagogue of America and the Jewish Sabbath Alliance of New York are said to be participating in the movement.
