A grant of half a million levas was made by the Reconstruction Commission to the Jewish Schools Council of Philippopolis. The funds were allotted for repairs of the Jewish schools which suffered damage in the earthquake which rocked Bulgaria on April 18, 1928.

Threatening letters have been received by a number of Jewish merchants here. The letters warn the merchants to remove immediately all Jewish signs outside their shops. An investigation has been promised by the police authorities.
