A conference of the Zionist Organization of Greece was called for January 19, in connection with the preparations for the extension of the Jewish Agency.

It was declared here that an effort will be made to create a union of all Jewish communities in Greece in order to name the Zionist and non-Zionist representatives to the Jewish Agency. Endeavors are also under way to coordinate the Zionist groups, which were split last year. The result of the split was that the collections for the Palestine funds dwindled.

The statute regulating elections to the Salonica Kehillah was amended by a decree of the government. The new statute establishes universal suffrage. Under the present regulation all members of the Jewish community who pay their Kehillah dues are entitled to vote, whereas under the previous regulation only property owners could vote.
