Attempts to portray the financial scandal of the “Gazette du Franc” as a “Jewish” affair are increasing in various quarters of the French capital, as the developments in the case grow to unprecedented proportions.

The latest development in the case, in which many Jewish individuals are involved, was the arrest of M. Amard, a Jewish banker. The fact that many Paris Jews, particularly recent immigrants to France, were ruined in the bankruptcy of the “Gazette du Franc” is overlooked.
