The records of Jewish communal life in the Russian capital were burned in a fire which destroyed the archives of the Moscow Kehillah.
The archives were kept in the office of the Moscow main synagogue. This part of the building was destroyed by fire last night. The main hall was not affected.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
