The first convention of Schochtim, was opened here with 100 delegates representing 800 members of the association of Polish Schochtim in attendance.
According to reports presented 5,000 schochtim are employed in Poland. They issue their own newspaper, the “Schochtim Stimme.”
Among the resolutions adopted was a decision to demand the regulation of the hours of work. A pension for aged schochtim is to be asked of the Kehillahs and protection for widows and orphans. Establishment of credit organizations is to be sought.
An Executive Committee was elected. Telegrams of felicitations were despatched to President Moscicki and Marshal Pilsudski.
