International Conference of the Union of League of Nations Societies was opened here last night. The permanent committees of the Union started their work on Saturday. They dealt mostly with the questions pending since the Brussels Conference.

An interesting memorandum was submitted concerning Palestine by the League of Nations Society of Argentine. The memorandum urges the Union to petition the League of Nations that it demands of the British Government to take more active steps in the establishment of the Jewish National Home in Palestine. The memorandum asks for the granting by Great Britain of a loan in the amount of £200,000,000 for this purpose. This matter, as well as other Jewish questions, will be taken up in a special Committee which is also to consider the memorandum of the Bulgarian Jewish League of Nations Society concerning the persecutions against the Jews in Yemen. Messrs. Motzkin and Feinberg representing the Palestine Jewish League of Nations Society are negotiating with representatives of various delegations concerning Palestine and other Jewish matters which will come up.
