Funeral services for Mrs. Julius Rosenwald, wife of the philanthropist, who died Thursday following a two-year illness from cancer, will be conducted with the strictest privacy from her late residence here.
In accordance with the wish expressed by Mrs. Rosenwald before her death, only members of the family will attend. The rites will be very simple, and flowers will be omitted. Rabbi Louis M. Mann of the Sinai Temple will officiate.
Complete plans for the services await the arrival of a son, Lessing J. Rosenwald, now enroute from California, and a daughter, Mrs. Edgar B. Stern of New Orleans.
The reception scheduled to be held on Sunday afternoon by the University of Chicago Alumni in behalf of the new president of Chicago University, Robert M. Hutchins, was called off by Harold Swift, President of the Board of Trustees, due to the death of Mrs. Rosenwald.
Dean Swift is a neighbor of the Rosenwalds.
