The regional eliminations of the Young Judaea national oratorical contest will be held simultaneously in nine cities of the United States, according to an announcement made by Samuel J. Borowsky, executive chairman of Young Judaea. All these tests will be conducted on Sunday, June 9th, when fifty-four contestants, boys and girls, in nine cities will compete for the prize offered by Young Judaea to the winner of the contest. The cities are: New York City, Brooklyn, Long Island. Boston, Rochester, Philadelphia. Atlanta, Columbus, Chicago and St. Louis.

All speakers have chosen as their subject some phase of the topic: “Palestine-the Source of Jewish Survival.” Former Congressman William W. Cohen, of New York, is the donor of the grand prize, which is a trip to Palestine and return. It is this award and various other prizes which has created keen rivalry among the various Young Judaea clubs throughout the country.

The winners of the regional contests will be given free trips to the twentieth anniversary convention of Young Judaea, which will be held in Long Branch, N. J., beginning June 20th. One of the features of the convention will be the finals of the oratorical contest, when three winners will be chosen by a board of prominent Jewish leaders as the judges.
