Hebrew Union Teachers School to Graduate 16

President Frederick B. Robinson of the College of the City of New York will be the principal speaker at the fifth commencement exercise of the Hebrew Union College School for Teachers in New York City which will take place on Wednesday night. June 12th at the Temple of Congregation Emanu-El at Fifth Avenue and 76th Street. The subject of President Robinson’s address will be “The Importance to America of Religious Education.”

Sixteen young men and women will be graduated as teachers in the religious schools of New York City. The certificates will be awarded by Abraham N. Franzblau, principal of the school. Dr. Samuel Schulman, Chairman of the Governing Board, will deliver an address and Ludwig Vogelstein will bring the greetings of the Executive Board of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations which supplies the funds for the maintenance of the school.

A farewell banquet was tendered the graduates by the student body of the Hebrew Union College School for Teachers on Monday night. at the Park Plaza Hotel.

More than fifty graduates of the Hebrew Union College School for Teachers in New York City, representing classes from 1924 to 1929, were present at an organization meeting of the Alumni Association.

Plans were drawn to effect the organization of a Religious Education Association to comprise the religious schools of the metropolitan district.

Temporary officers of the Alumni Association were elected as follows: Norman Tischler, President: Carol B. Selig, Vice President: Jeanette Rosenblum. secretary: Ruth Bronstein, treasurer.

Members of Congregation Shearith Israel of Dallas. Texas, presented the dean of the local Baylor University School of Medicine with ### reward an endowment fund in honor of Rabbi Raphael fish Gold rabbi of the congregation.
