The first interstate gathering of Jewish women was held here. Representative of the several Jewish Women’s Councils in the various Australian states conferred an a number of matters affecting the work of Jewish women in Australin.

The delegates were welcomed by the Amorney General, F. S. Boyce. K. C. on behalf of the Government of New South Wales. He remarked that Jewish women make a larger part in the affaires of the home than do women of other denominations.

The conference demanded that immediate steps should be ### to dead with the problems of divorce and other matters affecting the Jewish woman.

A young Jewish girl after a brilliant career at the Sydney University has been appointed experimental physiologist to the Cancer Research Committee a body appointed by the New South Wales Government to organize the campaign against cancer. Miss Daphne Goulston. E. Se. is only twenty pears of age.
