In recognition and appreciation of their contributions to the success of the $5,000,000 Hebrew Union College Endowment Fund, which is within $800,000 of its goal, Adolph S. Ochs and Julius Rosenwald have been elected honorary members of the Hebrew Union College Alumni Association, according to the announcement by Rabbi Martin Zielonka, president of that body.

In accepting the honor, Mr. Ochs wrote: “I have your interesting letter informing me that I have been elected an honorary member of the Alumni Association of the Hebrew Union College. I am highly complimented to be regarded as worthy of so great an honor.”

In his letter of acceptance, Mr. Rosenwald stated: “Your very kind letter is most cordially appreciated as is the honor it conveys. Will you kindly express to your associates my warmest thanks for the distinction they afford me, which I fully realize is far beyond what I deserve.”
