Marquis of Reading Confers with Macdonald on Palestine Situation

The Marquis of Reading, one of the leading British Jews and former viceroy of India, called on Prime Minister Ramsay MacDonald this afternoon. His arrival was sudden and it was understood that the position in Palestine was discussed for over two hours.

The Prime Minister also conferred today with First Lord of the Admiralty Alexander on the same subject.

The Admiralty issued an official announcement this afternoon that another battalion had been sent from Malta to Palestine.

The Colonial Office issued a statement on the Palestine situation.
