While the Government of Palestine is considering the proposal for a new Jewish immigration, the quota submitted by the Zionist Executive being 6,000, the Arab Executive has submitted a demand for the stoppage of all immigration.
In an interview with Sir John Chancellor. High Commissioner of Palestine, the Arab Executive demanded the stoppage of all immigration owing to “the political, and economic conditions.” The High Commissioner made no reply to this demand.
The Arabs also demanded government relief for the Arab sufferers of the outbreak, Arab sources declaring that the High Commissioner was astonished to hear that the Arabs thus far have remained unassisted.
