A second attempt to raid Kfar Yeladim, the children’s colony, was frustrated by watchmen, reinforced by a permanent military guard, who opened fire on the marauders, who escaped. Additional troops were immediately rushed to the colony from Afuleh. In the first raid a Jewish watchman, Sholom Elisha, was killed by the Arab marauders.
