The Jewish manager of the Singer Sewing Machine Company branch in Jerusalem was dismissed and an Arab appointed in his place, reports the correspondent of the “Jewish Morning Journal” from Jerusalem.

Included in the newly acquired canvasses of men prominent in the history and development of Columbia University is a portrait of Prof. Richard J. H. Gottheil. The painting is by Louise Waterman Wise.
