Dr. A. S. Youris and Samuel Dayan, representatives of the Palestine Labor Party “Histadruth,” who recently arrived in this country, were given an enthusiastic reception by the National Committee for Organized Jewish Labor in Palestine, at a meeting Sunday in Irving Plaza Hall. Addresses in which the work of the Palestinian workers was praised and their mission to the United States endorsed, were made by Joseph Schlossberg, general secretary of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers, who presided; A. Hamlin, L. Rubinstein, F. Kruza and L. Segal, all of whom promised the fullest support of American Jewish labor for the work being done by the Palestine “Histadruth.”

Speaking of the attitude of Palestine Jewish labor to the Arabs, both Dr. Youris and Mr. Dayan declared that the “Histadruth” has never waged and never intends to wage war on the masses of the Arab workers, but that it will continue to fight the effendis and muftis who exploit Arab labor and who are responsible for the recent riots. They also told of the new economic activities in Palestine and of the need for more chalutzim.

Prior to the reception, a meeting of the National Committee was held in the Hotel Pennsylvania, where resolutions were adopted with a view to the continuation and strengthening of the campaign of the United Hebrew Trades for Palestine labor.
