N. Y. Federation Raises $312,000, Reducing Deficit to $711,000

Gifts totalling $312,000 were announced by the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies, Sunday. The sum, according to the announcement, brings the deficit for the year ending December 31 down to $711,000, which, it is hoped, will be raised in the remaining two weeks.

Among contributors of $5,000 and over were:

Bernard M. Baruch, George Blumenthal, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lehman, David A. Schulte, Moses Newborg, $10,000 Emil Mosbacher, $8,500; Edward S. Harkness, $7,500; Mr. and Mrs. Nathan L. Amster, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Block, Mr. and Mrs. Jerome J. Han###, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hirschborn, Stuart Hirschman, Mr. and Mrs. Otto H. Kahn, Paul M. Rosenthal, Jacob and Elliott Sperber, Samuel Under ###, Mrs. Tillie Wacht (in memory of Samuel Wacht) $5,000.
