At a meeting held Friday at the Jewish Club, and attended by the members of the Executive Committee of the Jewish Education Association, leaders of Jewish teachers’ organizations and laymen representing other organizations interested in Jewish religious education, Bernard Semel, honorary secretary of the Jewish Education Association reported that a Board of License has been organized for the purpose of issuing certificates of qualification to candidates for the position of teacher in the Jewish religious schools. Mr. Semel reported that the step was taken on the initiative of the Jewish Education Association and the organization of Principals of Jewish Religious Schools of New York and Vicinity.

The Board of License, it was further reported, has already established the qualifications for teachers and appointed a Board of Examiners.
