Hungarian Jewry Scores Initial Victory in Fight Against Numerus Clausus

The fight of Hungarian Jewry against numerus clausus in the universities, has resulted in an initial victory with the announcement that Szegedi University has completely abolished numerus clausus because the municipality has contributed 8,000,000 pengoes for university extension on condition that numerus clausus be eliminated.

Count Klebelsberg, Hungarian minister of education, has announced that at the summer term of the university, the authorities have agreed to waive numerus clausus as a result of the municipality’s gift.
