Government Approves Rules for Assefat Hanivcharim Election

The Palestine government has approved the regulations for the elections to the Assefat Hanivcharim, assembly of representative delegates, the body that elects the Vaad Leumi, or Jewish National Council. Every member of the Kenesseth Israel, Jewish communities, who is twenty years of age or over, is entitled to a vote and every member of the Kenesseth Israel 25 years or over may be chosen a deputy even if he is not yet a Palestinian citizen.

By the terms of the regulations the elections must be held within half a year after the government has approved them.
