The inequality between the proportion of Jewish taxation and the Jewish allowances under the budget were discussed by Deputy Isaac Gruenbaurn in the Polish parliament today during the debate on the budget. He said “it is a miracle that three allowances totaling together 149,000 zlotys were actually sanctioned. While we welcome this small start because it will enable us to continue our fight for an increase we cannot approve the budget which takes everything from us and offers us nothing.”

During the discussion on the budget for the ministry of labor, Dr. Heller, speaking for the Hitachduth, criticized the government and the Polish people’s attitude towards the Jewish organizations for economic protection. “I am giving you a last minute warning before it is too late to save the situation that the catastrophe of Polish Jewry endangers the economic situation of the entire country.” He also submitted resolutions calling on the government to support the He’Chaluz, the Ozet and the Society for the Protection of Orphans.
