Further response to the telegraphic inquiries of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency make it apparent that Friday evening and Saturday were set aside throughout the country as a time for prayers and special services to protest against religious persecution in Russia.
In Salt Lake City the Young Folks Jewish Club held services Friday evening with the concluding prayer a special one against persecution of religion in Russia. The Independent Order of B’nai B’rith of this city is planning a resolution of protest to be sent to its national headquarters on March 18, in which Russia’s persecution of religion will be denounced.
In Waterbury, Conn., the synagogues of the city joined, Friday evening, in adopting resolutions of protest against the abridgment of religious liberty in Soviet Russia, and the destruction of churches and synagogues by the government. The entire community offered public prayers Saturday for the speedy end of the campaign against religion in Russia.
